Best Abdominal Exercise

Is there actually an Ab exercise that is referred to as the best abdominal exercise? Well, not really. They all have their own functions and benefits to the body. There are popular exercises such as crunches, leg raises and of course sit-ups. A combination of all these together is the best abdominal exercise as it allows you to work all areas of the Abs, not just the lower or upper Abs.

One thing to realise when trying to train your Abs, is that because the exercises are normally short, you won't be burning too many calories. So these aren't good exercises for burning fat or losing weight. They are purely for building up the muscles in the Abs. So if you have a large layer of fat covering your stomach, then thinking that you can just do sit-ups everyday and get ripped Abs, then think again! You will have to combine a well balanced diet as well as regular training to see results. So to break the bad news!

So when you see the next advert on TV that says you can have Abs like the model just by using the piece of exercise equipment they are trying to sell, you now know that it will take much more than just that. You will have to perform aerobic exercise to burn off the fat around the belly. Things such as running, cycling or jogging should be done for at least 20 minutes a day to start burning off fat and increasing your metabolism.

Continue your Ab training everyday too, for just 5-10 minutes and it shouldn't take too long before your get that washboard stomach and six pack abs you could only dream of. Just remember that losing fat is just as important as doing the Ab exercises. That is the only true way to get the figure you would be glad to show off the next time you go to the beach. So the best abdominal exercise is to vary your Ab exercises and have a proper balanced diet.
