A Flat Abs Workout
If you want the best results, then a flat abs workout should contain several exercises that work the lower, upper abs and the obliques. There are several effective abs exercises that you can incorporate and won't need to buy any special equipment to perform them. So let's take a look at some of these exercises in more detail.
The Bicycle Exercise
This is one of the most common and effective ab exercises that you can do. You simply lie flat on your back, with your hands behind your head. Lift your knees up so that your legs are bent. Then you twist your body and try to touch your left elbow with your right knee. Then lower and repeat the process but change your leg and arm. The result is a twist in the abdomen that is great at reducing love handles, which is the fat at the side of the waist.
Captains Chair
This exercise is just like the hanging leg raise but is performed on the piece of equipment called the Captains Chair. You get onto the equipment and rest your arms on the platform with your legs hanging below you. You then lift up your knees to waist height, hold for a few seconds, then lower your legs back down. You should feel your abs crunching as you perform the exercise. It is a great way to flatten the stomach and build muscle at the same time.
There are of course many exercises that you can incorporate into your flat
abs workout. If you combine these exercises with a low fat, balanced diet, then
you should be able to lose the fat around your belly and expose your abs for
all to see. There's no point exercising your abs constantly if you don't
try and lose the fat around your stomach. Hopefully these tips will give you
some motivation to begin your training today!
